Stupid people

One of them is my FYP (final year project) supervisor. Today we had a meeting with him. The first thing he said to us was: '' I think your report is way below standards, but there's nothing I can do about it''. Well, if you didn't confuse the heck out of us, we wouldn't be int his predicament in the first place! And the sad thing is... our FYP has a ''teacher on student evaluation'', but no ''student on teacher'' evaluation. WTF. There's not even a peer assessment!!! The world is really unfair man. We were doing a fine job in the beginning. But it was his idea to change what we wanted to do. Then he also suggested changing our project 2 entirely. That means that project 1, which we were doing for 6 months, is basically void! And now our ''FYP'' just feels like 6 months work! He confuses us so much and then he expects so much from us. Sometimes he even forgets what he said. We call him ''old fag''. I think this stupid old man should just go retire. Leave the students the fuck alone..

Another person is my groupmate for ''Steel Desing and Detailing'', SDD. She has done basically nothing for this module. For our peer assessment, I only gave her 15%. I just hope she doesn't have to stay back one more semester to repeat this module. The rest of my group really put in a lot of effort. Like when we did our model, we spent 8 hours together on a Saturday to do it and I spent another 8 hours or so finishing it on Sunday. What's her excuse for not coming to do it? On Sat she has to work and on Sun she has her Chingay parade rehearsal. WTF.In the past, we used to give her alternatives on whether she can do stuff or not, but we've become so numb to her that we just gave up on asking her. My groupmate, also working part-time, asked why she can't take off. I wonder too. She may need the money, but come on la, use ur brain. For 2 1/2 semesters you've experienced ''project rush'', you don't know how to plan your schedule so that during the last few weeks of school you don't work? Now you've pissed your groupmates off and you've learnt nothing. It's her loss, not mine, cos I learnt something and bonded with my groupmate. As a friend, I'm worried that she wil continue like this when she goes into the working world. I just hope she learns... soon.

Only 1 1/2 weeks of actual lessons. Then 2 more weeks of exam (I only have 2), after which I AM DONE! I'm a lil sad about it, but I guess its just time to move into the next phase in life. Girls, I will miss spending time together like we do now. Even if we meet up after graduation, it'll never be the same. But it's alright, we just gotta keep moving forward...

Guess What?

I'm still doing projects! Haha... At least I'm done with 3 projects. Now all that's left is FYP and some WET shit (funny, since that's a module about wastewater technology!)

I'm reading all these real interesting blogs of my friends, and I find my life just absolutely DULL! It's not like I can't go to clubs or have sleepovers or just take a whole day to just hang out somewhere, it's just that I'm trying to be responsible and so I stay away from all these, for now. But its ok, because I still get to watch movies and do a little shopping, which is all I need for relaxation!

I learnt this in a (sort of) psychology class: you can't not be affected by the people around you. That is so true. When I was 12, and was hanging out with a bunch of really naughty boys, I did some of the most stupidest things ever. But now in Poly, I'm glad to say that all my friends are really good, guai young ladies! And that is why I think that i'm being so guai at this point in time! :)

Don't worry, after my final exams, I will have a chalet and a vacation to Vietnam to write about! Then that won't be dull! Also, my cousin will be getting married! Their ROM date is on Feb 14, Valentine's day and my mum's birthday! Darn.. I still dunno what to get her!

Lastly, congratulations to Uncle Eddy and his wife on their new baby girl! I'm looking forward to seeing you guys on CNY!

Hoping ya'll are well,

It's the weekend...

On Friday, the girls and I were feeling nostalgic, so during our 2 hour break, after lunch at SIM, we went over blk 50 (where we spent practically the whole of semester 3.1) taking pictures! Here's 2 of my favourites...

After school, I went with mum to John Little Orchard cos we needed to exchange curtains. After that, we went to Sakae Sushi at Heeren to eat. The service was HORRIBLE!!! Even the manager was horrible. We arrived at around 6 and she couldn't give us a booth seat cos there were reservations. Then she said ''unless you can eat fast enough and finish at 7?''. You're the MANAGER and you suck. Later on she was arraging some tables and she dragged them until everyone in the restaurant was staring at her. And the waitress that first served us... she looked like she hated her job and really did not want to be there. We lost our appetite and in the end did leave at 7. We rushed through our meal just to get out of there! Sakae Sushi at Heeren SUCKS!!!

After that we went to watch 3:10 to Yuma at Cathay Cineleisure with my sis. It was a nice show!
Russell Crow + Christian Bale = overload of charisma + a good time

I bought a pair of sandals from newurbanmale and a few DVDs. I also bought a CD by Ash called Twilight of the Innocents. They're not bad! I'll want to find out more about them once I have enough time... :)

On Saturday, I fulfilled my urge to go kbox with Yu En. We sang from about 4 to 8+. I'm quite impressed with their song selection, considering its a mostly chinese song kinda place. They had really new songs like Bubbly, Pictures of You, Soulmate and my fav of the new... Paralyzer! It was pretty low for me, and the bad thing about kbox is that you can't really adjust the key to what's bst suited for you. :( Nevertheless, we had a good time!

Sunday... I don't feel the diference these days. I must sound like an old woman... ''projects so sian...'' Kinda like my grandma, who is here now! Haha... but she's like 84, so she has a good excuse! :) Anyway, we did a little spring cleaning today. Mum's washing the cushion and couch covers now so our couch looks rather plain. We also changed the curtains. The hall: from brown to red. My sis' room: from tansparent green to opaque turquoise. My room: from red to purple. My new bedsheet is purple too, a similar shade to my curtain, so this year's theme for my room is ''Royally Purple''! Haha... We also arranged our massive DVD collection, so now it looks neater. And we finally found a good use for the very cute purple ''collapsable'' dolls, as you can see in the picture below, together with my new curtains and poster arrangement...

Just so you know... these DVDs that you see in the front are not all. There's 2 shelves of DVDs and VCDs in the backbround! Hee... My mum just loves to buy them... and I enjoy it too! :)

Alright, now back to projects... :(

Hope ya'll are well!

Same old, same old

My friends and I have no life. It's school, not paying attention in class cos we're either doing projects or trying to de-stress with what little time we have, then staying back about 2-3 hours more after school to try and make some progress on our projects. I've even said no to going out with my mother and pushing it to Friday so that I can stay back and do projects. Do you know how hard that is for me? Haha... Doing the right thing feels bad sometimes... :(

Anyway, I'm not feeling too good these days. With a lot of my time taken up doing projects, I have decided to take advantage of it and try to cut down on my food intake in an effort to lose weight. So...
cutting down on food + projects stress = tightness in chest and shortness of breath
Haha... but don't worry, I'm pretty sure its just the stress. This has happened to me before when I was eating normally and it goes away after my projects are handed up. :)

A few days ago, I saw my lecturer whom I have to hand up 2 projects to and see everyday. It was after school, walking out, and I turned around and there he was. I unconsciously let out a BIG sigh and rolled my eyes! Oops... He was so shocked to get that kinda reaction! HAHA...

I wanna go kbox! A little singing might relieve my stress... but we're kinda waiting for after most of the projects' deadlines. So until then, it's back to doing my projects...

Hope you're all less stressed than I am...

Friday Shopping

After a rather blank day at school, in which we finished one project and a few assignments, I went to Plaza Singapura with mum to shop, to let off a little steam...

Oh wait, there's something else...

Yesterday, I saw this really cool looking guy at canteen 3. He was decked out in all black, had the ''skater'' hairstyle that I like (with some interesting highlights), looked a little mixed-blood and was walking with a bounce. I thought ''hey, he's kinda cool''. So I went on the rest of the day not even remembering I saw the guy. Then today on my way out of school, I saw him again! We were just crossing paths, and this time he had a guitar strapped to his back. Ok, even more cool... So later on at the bus stop, we happened to take the same bus. Alright... I was rushing to meet mum, so when I reached Clementi, I got off and immediately started making my way up to the first carriage of the train. I was walking pretty fast, and when I reached my destination, guess who was right behind me? Haha... yup, HE was there! So when the train came and we entered, I saw mum's reaction which was a nod of ''he's cool''. HAHA. Later on in the ride, his hand accidentally grabbed mum's hand which was on the bar! Darn... why couldn't it be mine? Hee... After that, he talked on the phone and I think it could either be a British or Australian accent that he had. He got off at Outram Park.

This is just a recount of a guy I found cool, nothing more... :)
Moving on...

I had a really good shopping trip. We started out buying tickets for a movie, then went to eat at the food court (I had way too much to eat), followed by my first purchase of the day: a backpacker bag! I could really use it for the chalet, and my sis and dad could use it for their short trips if they want. Then we went to The Body Shop to buy my powder which I was out of. We ended up buying a shimmer bronze thing for me and a concealor for mum! We also went to a CD shop where I bought a Boys Like Girls CD and mum bought her Donny and Marie Osmond DVD. I tried on some clothes after that, which didn't fit and got me frustrated. The big clothes here are either absolutely ''auntie'' or they don't make any sense... Anyway, I didn't feel like buying clothes anymore, so we went to Gelare for a sit and chat. We then went to watch...

Dan In Real Life! Starring Steve Carrell and a few other familiar faces. It started out a little slow, but soon picked up and turned out to be a very enjoyable movie! I think it's just me, I sometimes do it in the dark movie theatres: cry. It's a sad part, so why isn't anyone else crying? Haha.. I cry more when it has to do with death, loneliness and being in the wrong and realizing your mistake. Hee... I strongly recommend this movie!

Stuff that I bought...

Take care, people!

Concert Weekend

On Saturday, Jan 5, I went to NP band's concert at Singapore Conference Hall. Was supposed to meet Johan at 6 at Tanjong Pagar MRT. I was playing Sims before that and got caught up, so I requested 6.30+. In the end, I reached Tanjong Pagar at close to 7. I magically found my way to the Conference Hall on my own, and was there waiting for him at 7. He came at 7.30. Haha... first time I've met him in months and he's late! But its alrgiht cos we went in just on time. :) The concert was pretty good and I enjoyed the Pirates piece! Loved the part where they sang! See, Band members can sing just as well as choir members! Met Brian, Greg and Sarah (first time in about 5+ months!). Even though Brian and Greg are in the same school, we almost never bump into each other!

Then on Sunday, Jan 6, I went for SP band's concert at Victoria Concert Hall. This time, Brian was late. And the ticket people were pretty slow on the giving out part, so we missed 1 1/2 songs. :( But once we got in, it was rather enjoyable. Certainly a more up-tempo concert. We got to meet Johan during the intermission and took some pics. Then they played a few more pieces, heard a very commendable solo from Johan, and the concert ended with a very nice goodbye to the year 3's. Then Jie Ying and I walked over to Esplanade, I bought a Ratatouille poster and went home. Caught the 502 bus just as it pulled in, then caught the 185 bus later just as it pulled in too!

I had some time while waiting for Brian and Jie Ying, so I went for a little Sight-seeing!

Great weekend!

Darn...

I wanted to change my template. Cos this is just boring, man. It is accessible and easy to read (I think), but its just too plain. I saw a couple of really cool templates on a website that May Ann introduced to me and I can't use them! Someone help me! Haha...

There was a cool 24 layout, puple ones, Harry Potter and even MCR!!! Sigh... I am just that lucky...

I'm typing this while waiting for WET (Wastewater Environmental Technology) class. My groupmate didn't bring her laptop today and now she's looking at what I'm typing! Haha... :)

Happy New Year!

It's 2008! 2007 was a real tumultuous year for me. So many things happened. One major unhappy one. I just hope that in 2008, I will be able to ''let go of the past and keep moving forward'' (quote from Meet the Robinsons). Also, I wish that I would be able to get a job that woulde keep me satisfied for the time being. For everyone else, may you find happiness and discover your goal, or part thereof, in life! :)

My new year did not start out well. It was ok, but it definitely could've been better. I was supposed to meet Ting and Ruyi at Sentosa cos they were going to tan in the morning. Then Yu En told me that she was maybe gonna meet up with the GV gang after her meeting with CL. In the end, she ended up not meeting CL and she was actually telling me the wrong thing and the GV gang were gonna be at East Coast. I did not wanna go there, so we ended up not meeting. We were supposed to meet to see if we could enter the countdown at Vivo, but that turned to mush once all the previous plans were cancelled! So I ended up watching AVP2 (very lame show) with mum. We later bought some stuff home and watched the countdown. During the countdown, mum fell asleep so I was basically just watching TV like any other night! Sigh.. At least I got to see the fireworks that were at the Boon Lay market. It lasted like 2 minutes, but it was something at least.

Another reason I don't feel like a new year, is because of all the banana projects that I have to do. I have been doing my projects everyday that is not a public holiday. Gosh, I was even doing a bit of it on New Year's eve! But i'm not complaining. Cos this is (hopefully) the last time that I'm gonna be doing this. Just about 5 more weeks of official lessons before school ends! :( It really is sad. Hopefully I can get into a University here after I go work first.

Alright, I'm typing this as I am in school waiting for my next class and about to continue doing projects!!!
