End of Exams!

End of exams but start of attachment... whoopee.

I completely screwed up my last paper! I forgot the steps of the question. Worst thing is, I prepared myself by looking and doing the last year paper, but I screwed up and I'm so mad and frustrated with myself!!!

Anyway... My friends and I went to Orchard after that. It was Kal's first time at Far East Plaza! haha... Went to eat at some Japenese restaurant in the basement then walked over to the Cathay building (is that what you ould call it?) for a kbox session which lasted from 2+ to around 6.30! They had some new songs, including one of my favs of Avril: Why. Its not in any of her albums, its just one of those unreleased songs. I gotta find some way to better my voice stamina! haha...

Germany won England 2-1! yea! Ballack should retire soon man, he always has some sort of injury! Old man already...

Ok, so I've posted the video of Mika performing ''My Interpretation''. This is a 'piano-only' version, the original has some simple drums and guitar. I like this song cos' it's different from the other songs that he has (a bit more.. normal?). Also, I have a weakness for acoustic songs (and stripped down versions) or those with simple music that just allows the singer's voice to shine through. As long as the lyrics are good... Don't you agree? Another song of Mika's to look out for is 'Happy Ending'. On his cd, at the end of this song, he does some opera-like singing!

F.I.L.W.A.I.

Told ya F.I.L.W.A.I. stands for something.... Did ya guess it? Haha... It was taken from an article I read about J.K. Rowling. She was talking about the ending of the Potter books and how she can't wait to ''fall in love with an idea'' again.

At that time I was already thinking of a blog and it was initially going to be ''My Interpretation'', after a song by Mika. But then I came across this article, read it to the very last word, and thought it would make a very interesting acronym. And if I was gonna have a blog, what better to name it then after something she, a woman whose words I greatly respect, said? So I took my pen and paper, put it into an acronym, and F.I.L.W.A.I. was born!

You heard it here first! On August 19 2007, I, K.T. explained what F.I.L.W.A.I. meant!

By the way, it's also a word used in 'The Rupublic of the Maldives'. But I can't seem to find out what it means. Apparently, their online dictionaries are really rare... :)

P.S. I would like to credit my cousin Jessica for helping me to do this picture. I think she's really creative! Really good with words, colour, and now, digital art! Haha... Thanks Ting!

Today...

People!

I went to watch Harry Potter for the 5th time today! Haha... I practically dragged my mum to go watch it! I felt I needed to watch it again cos the cinemas were starting to phase out the movie and I, being a Potterfreak, was kinda sad that the movie was not gonna be shown anymore on the big screen. My guess for the DVD to come out: Christmas 2007.

So just for fun, here's another list. This one is how many times i've watched each Harry Potter movie...
Sorcerer's Stone: 3
Chamber of Secrets: 6
Prisoner of Azkaban: 3
Goblet of Fire: 8
Order of the Phoenix: 5

4D numbers anyone? Haha... I find that the 5th one best captured the essence of the book. In terms of adaptation, I think the 2nd one was done quite well, albeit a little kiddish, and the special effects could've been better. Azkaban is arguably the worst Potter film, for me. Artistically, it wins hands down! But in terms of adaptation, it sucked. I felt what was sweet was that the Marauder's Map was partly made by Harry's dad, and they excluded it! They cut out a whole load of things and the spells... oh the spells... Immobulus for the Whomping Willow? And said by Lupin? He's supposed to be the friggin' Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher! I could go on for ages... ok, about an hour...

So my title is about TODAY. Not the newspaper, but my day. I woke up late, at 12.25, was enjoying my sleep cos' of the wonderful sleepy weather the rain brings! So i went to meet my mum to go Plaza Singapura. We transferred at Raffles Place and when we got out, the other train was already there. We rushed into the train, and in my hurried state, i stumbled in, didn't see this girl's leg that was sticking out, tripped on it, she said ''sorry'' and I said ''stupid''. Haha... I felt bad at first, but now when I think of it, I don't really feel bad about it! Cos' earlier on, I had to go from the last carriage of the train, to Raffles Place, to the first carriage while the train was moving. On my way, I had to constantly avoid people's legs sticking out! I mean, someone could trip on one of those legs, maybe hit the metal bar, and knock a tooth out! Or they could trip and hit their heads and start bleeding or crack their skull or something... I mean, what if it’s a kid? Their bones are softer and if they hit their skull, it could seriously affect their mental development!

Here's what I have to say:

WOMEN: Crossing your leg properly means that one leg is neatly tucked BESIDE the other and not HANGING loosely on your knee and therefore sticking out. If you can't cross it properly, then don't do it! After all, the best way of sitting properly, is to have one leg tucked BEHIND the other. Also, crossing your leg is not very good for the spine anyway…

MEN: If you have to cross you leg, then do it so that it looks like you actually have something between them! Don't cross it and let one leg casually hang over the other! Guys tend to have longer limbs right? So when you let one leg hang out, especially in the MRT, it means you're blocking more walking space in the aisle of the train! And if you can cross your leg where one leg is neatly tucked beside the other... well....

Another thing, GUYS, if you are a guy that is below maybe 30 and you're in perfect health, let the ladies sit down once in a while huh? I'm not asking for a miracle, and I know women these days are becoming emotionally stronger (most of us anyway), going into the work force and maaaybe taking some of your jobs and getting more headstrong everyday, but don't take it against us! Times have changed! It’s the 21st century! Have more confidence, behave more like a gentleman! In case you don't already know, women LOVE gentlemen! And just so you know, those heels really hurt, especially if you're standing in a train or bus after walking around in them the whole day, so give us a break will ya?

Ladies, if you feel me, tag away...

PEACE! :)

Taking a break...

People!

I'm taking a break from studying.. I don't really have a study plan and that kind of scares me a little. I'm sort of taking it one day at a time. Give me discipline to study!!

Its always at this period of time where I don't have time to do anything else besides schoolwork, that I think of doing stuff that relaxes me. One of those things that relax me is playing Sims, which is just about the only game I do play. Hee... I wanna play Worms but I don't know anyone who has the game! If anyone reading this personally knows me, please give me the game!

So I was looking at some pictures of my Sims characters and came across some funny pictures! Sometimes when you leave them standing there, of if they're guests at your house, they start doing their own thing and if you snap at the right time, you can get some pretty funny shots...

This is Tara Wilson, the wife of one of my characters. She was a guest and just walking around
when I caught her doing this!

This is Hector Angiere, the husband of the above mentioned. He's walking around in his swimming trunks in winter and he feels cold! Haha...

This is Skandar Angiere. brother of the above mentioned, with his wife Jaqueline Raha and son Zenith Angiere. These are just nice pictures...

This is a funny one! She was playing with the baby...

As funny as some pictures might be, there are some downright ''aww...'' moments.

Ok, gotta go back to my ''studying''... Study hard, friends!

Gwen Stefani rocks!

First off, i'd just like to let ya'll know that i know that the description under ''MY INTERPRETATION'' is a little hard to read cos it's in red, so just highlight it and you should be able to read it fine...
In the middle of studying for exams now... I really hope i do fine!

So i just got back from Gwen Stefani's concert and now i find her more cool than i used to! I wen with my mum and sister. She was thoroughly entertaning and her energy level was excellent for a 30-something and a mum of 1! The concert started out with 2 spotlights, then suddenly 2 of her dancers started to run from the back, stopping at verious intervals to do some poses. 1 of the dancers came very close to me! She was a few metres away when she stopped to hop onto the banister, all the while doing the ''cute/innocent'' thing that japenese girls do often. Then she came towards me, walked directly past me, and sat 3 seats behind me! I was in the spotlight for awhile... hee... Then she went towards the back, was caught by the ''police officer'' (1 of the dancers), brought to the stage where it went dark again before the lights came on and Gwen started with ''The Sweet Escape''. There were a couple of cool songs in between that i hadn't heard before. The 2 black guys from the No Doubt days were there to! My sis and I were hoping that she would do some No Doubt songs, but she didn't. The coolest part was when she sang one of my favourite songs of hers, Cool, and she went into the audience! She was running up and down the length of the indoor stadium and the security guard had a challege to keep up with her! Even after all her success, she was really humble. When i watched Christina Aguilera, she could have come off a little proud, but not Gwen! Gwen said 2 or 3 times that she felt it was so surreal that a girl from Anaheim, California could write some songs and then have us listen to it and that she was happy that all of us came to see her! The concert ended with ''What You Waiting For'', not before she got all of us to stand up, which is not something Singaporeans do very often. Then the band and her took a bow and left the stage. She's AWESOME! Now I wanna see if there are any cool L.A.M.B stuff that i can afford! haha...

So here are some pictures...

My sis and I. We can never take a decent picture together...

My cousin Jessica was there too. She's with Sherie within the red circle!

One of the Harajuku girls warming the crowd up!

My ''souvenirs'': 2 T-shirts and 3 ticket stubs! I bought the black one and my sis bought the white one. Cool drawing huh?

Life goes on...

Do you ever feel like the world is moving along at a perfectly fine pace and you're just stuck where you are? That's how i've been feeling my whole life... heehee... Don't worry, its nothing real sad or anything, its just how i feel.

My secondary school friends have moved on. A lot of them are top students now! Great job guys! Johan Brian and Greg are still doing the band thing, which is really cool. Except now when we meet up (not a lot), they start talking about a whole world of ''polytechnic band'' that i have no idea about! Johan if ur reading this (i know you don't really answer your phone), lets meet up sometime ok? And not for any band stuff... In fact, the whole senior band group should meet up! haha... That'd be great...

The only secondary school friend i've really been in touch with is May Ann... cos we're in the same lecture group? haha... And surprisingly enough, i'm still in touch with Jing Yuan, Sharilyn, Kenneth and the rest! I think that's pretty cool...

In today's fast-paced world of technology, where a person halfway across the world can receive a call or email in a matter of seconds, we certainly don't make enough effort to keep in touch with each other on this small island... Let's try harder! :)

On a seperate note, this is just something i wrote:

It's been some time,
I still think of you.
Sad thing is,
you won't know the truth.
Unrequited love,
story of my life.
Memories of you,
is all I can strive.
I can't get close to you,
for risk of losing you.
If I can't have you,
at least I've known you.
You say nice things,
and that makes it worse.
It's hard for me to let go,
that's your charm and my curse.

Unrequited love's a bitch! He won't know its about him, and i'm guessing only like 5 people in my world will know.

Still, life goes on...

MOVIES

Hey People,

'Cheemonology' : the science of being 'cheem'. My blog name, FILWAI, stands for something. Its an acronym. Could you possibly guess what it is?

Moving on to a less ''cheem'' topic...

Here's a list of movies that I think are pretty cool... In no particular order, except Harry Potter who's always number one!

- All Harry Potter movies
- Pirates of the Carribean movies
- The Island
- i, Robot
- The Incredibles
- Meet the Robinsons
- Knocked Up
- The Holiday
- 300 (effects are AMAZING!!!)
- The Lord of the Rings (just for the sheer effort)
- Bridget Jones (its relative, heehee)
- The Devil Wears Prada
- What's Eating Gilbert Grape
- National Treasure
- The Chronicles of Narnia (the idea, at least)
- 28 days and 28 weeks later
- Over the Hedge
- Little Miss Sunshine (great script)
- Forrest Gump
- Stranger Than Fiction

That's all for now. Just so you know, my movie buddy is my mum. Free movies! haha... And i've basically been watching 1 movie a week since I was 12/13 (now 19), so you do the math... Its a lot!

I watched 'The Perfect Stranger' today. It was ok i guess. Halle Berry and Bruce Willis' good looks and veteran acting saved the film from being a complete disaster. The plot was pretty similar to 'Secret Window' and 'The Sixth Sense', if you get what i mean... Sorry if i spoiled the plot for you. hee...

What's next... a list of good books maybe? Actors (not a lot)? Music?

Whatever i'm in the mood for...

I leave you with a quote I discovered while watching 'Stranger Than Fiction'. In the movie, Dustin Hoffman's character said this:
''The ultimate meaning to which all stories refer has two faces: the continuity of life, and the inevitibility of death.''

Introduction to... ME!

Hey people,

I am K.T. from Singapore, 19 years old (going on 30), in a Polytechnic (biggest population), single (very much).

Music: MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE! Anything rock basically...

Movies are my hobby. I definitely have a list of my favourites movies, but perhaps i'll post that some other time.

I draw sometimes, although now because of stupid projects i don't really have time. I'm an engineering student wishing to be otherwise.

Harry Potter is my way of life! When its a Harry Potter day (when the movie comes out) nothing else matters! haha...

This is my very first blog. I've read some other people's blogs before and i do have an idea of what i want to put here. For starters, there will be no such thing like '' i ate at this place...'' , ''i went to this shopping centre today...'', ''my friend ate this today...'' , basically, no boring details of my life here. This is my blog, not my diary so whatever i post will have a purpose! (most of the time anyway) I may not post as many entries, but each entry will be interesting!

So welcome to my life people!

K.T.
