A weekend of noise
And what is with the bad singing? REALLY? I mean, really? Its not enough that you're making NOISE, but you can't even have a little decent music?
ARGH...... SHUT UP!!!!!!
P.S. Now looking forward to going to the Idol finals to experience real singing. :)

Slacking with Mr ''URTI''
This week, I went to swim 16 laps. And then I fell sick! Haha... I had had a sore throat over the weekend but nothing to worry about, then now its grown to full on phlegm. I hope its not, but it might be the beginning of the Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI) again. Which, if anyone recalls, I had one earlier this year and a really bad one last year....
So now I can't even sing at home cos my voice just can't do it. I just spent the day totally slacking adn that's what compelled me to write this rather mundane post.... And hearing some advendtures from my sis who just got back from Belgium, Germany, Holland and Paris. You know, its my dream to go to that area, but our dollar is so weak among the Euro that I might not have as much fun there.... :(
Left with 100 more pages in Dracula. It's difficult to read an unabridged version of a classic book cos they really write differently in the past. And the words that I don't understand, sometimes I can't even find in the dictionary cos maybe its an old word or something.... I've been reading this 440+ page book for over a months already. Wanna faster finish it so I can go on to something much easier, like Twilight's Eclipse. Ha.

Insignificant
On another note....
I'm still waiting for my next job to start. Its been 3 months since I've been unemployed. People think its sooo easy to stay home and not do anything. Ya, you try it. See if you can stay at home, have an inquisitive, questioning mind and be completely alone with nothing to distract you from yourself. Just you and yourself in a death ring of life and questions. Ya, its easy.
With so much time to think, one thing that pops into my head is how completely and totally insignificant I feel. Recently, I went on a short trip to KL. My mum had a ton of people to inform about the trip and there were people who were like 'huh... why you going? What will we do without you?' I didn't tell anyone about the trip. I thought 'why bother?' Then, this crossed my mind.... Would anyone miss me if I'm gone?
Yes, I might look like I have the perfect life from the outside. Wake up people... NO ONE has a perfect life. I just don't tell you certain stuff and you don't bother to look deeper.
I appreciate the people in my life soooo much... just for being who you are, you are enriching my life. Did you know that?
But these days, everyone is moving on with their life and its ok! I'm happy for you!
Its just that now... its just me, my thoughts, nothing to distract me from them and no one to save me.

There's a New Moon
So I dragged my mum down to Borders and of course there's a catch. The 1st 2 books in the series are already at a discounted price of $12 which means that I can't use my voucher. But still, $12 is a good bargain. So I got the 1st 2 books and managed to use my voucher for the 3rd book. All of them cost about $33. Bargain, yea!
I'm pretty free these days and since this was a teenage book, it was pretty light reading and I got through the 563 pages of New Moon in 3 days and 1 night. That's fast for my standard and ya, it was quite interesting. I watched the 1st Twilight movie and am now ready for the 2nd one. I got a feeling... Although most books kick their movie's ass, I think for once, the movie might be more interesting than the book... I dunno.. Guess I'll have to wait until 3 December to find out! 2 weeks after the American release, btw...
And Angie, my dear friend.... I think I'd rather join Jacob's pack. Hee.... I think he's sweeter! :)

This Is It
After that, I popped over to Jurong East library and found some nice books. I found out then that they blocked my IC! Cos I lost my wallet and therefore my IC in 2005... So I had to replace the card. After I replaced it, I took the 2 books that I found and walked out... without checking them out yet! The alarm went off and all the security guard did was just to sit in his chair and look at me! Haha... ended up borrowing an encyclopedia of Calligraphy and a book on Art Deco.
In the evening, mum sis and I went to watch Michael Jackson's This Is It. Boy, if I were a fan, I think I'd be bawling my eyes out. Everytime I saw the trailer for the show, I got a bit emotional and watching the film wasn't any different. It was the parts when he talked about the ideas that he had and trying to perfect that segment of the show. You see the genius that he is during those moments. The first half of the show I was rather emotional but as it went on, I found myself smiling and just appreciating who he is. I really hope and pray that people will pay one last sign of respect to this great man of our time and just go, just pick yourself up and go to the cinema to watch his last moments. Please do not illegally watch or download this film because it will be nothing but disrespect to the King of Pop. Oh, and another suggestion... if your bladder isn't bursting by the end of the show, or if you're not in any rush, try to stay until the credits finish! :)

Food + Opinions = ???
Mid week however.... Sis cooked a meal for her boyfriend as an early birthday present abd we all helped a little. Then the next day we went to watch My Sister's Keeper and cried our eyes out. I read the book recently and thought it was pretty good. The movie however... I know you're supposed to view the movie and book as 2 seperate entities but no matter, under any circumstances, I think, that you should change the ending of the book! Sure, it'll probably please a lot more cinema-goers, but... wtf?!?!?!?
On Friday, I went to the zoo with a close dear friend and was pleasantly surprised when they all still remembered me and let me and Angie do some stuff for free! Sometimes I miss working there... Haha...
Saturday I met up with my poly girls. We caught up with Yu En on married life and the rest of us just chatted our girly talk. We walked from Far East to Orchard central and finished it off with a movie (500 days of summer) at Cineleisure. Orchard central? I didn't really like it... It didn't have much flow for me and the shops there weren't too interesting. I prefer Ion, if only I had more money... :)
Yesterday, someone told me that ''I look pretty, if only... its just my weight only...''. If I had a dollar for everytime I have heard that...
I wish that I could tell it: ''I don't have a problem with my weight or the way I look. YOU are the one with the problem, and before you say anything about me, why don't you take a good look in the mirror first? Being skinny does not justify you as being beautiful. Who the hell are you to let your opinions out for everyone to hear? Why don't you just take your opinions and shove it up your asshole of a brain?!''
Ah, if only we could say things and get away with it... :)

Thank goodness for 3 small digits
This weekend... I wanted to make plans. Call my 1 of 2 single girlfriend and see if she wanted to do anything or call my guy friend and see if he was doing anything. But I decided to spend some time at home with mummy. We went grocery shopping Friday evening and bought stuff to cook on Saturday....
See, I've recently been in a cooking phase. I'm interested in it and I would like to improve on that skill while I have some time. So I've been watching cooking shows on TV and even bought 2 cookbooks! And after watching the movie 'Julie & Julia' I knew I wanted to cook something this weekend! Btw, that movie is quite funny! More of a chick flick and a long chick flick at that!
So on Saturday we cooked corn soup with toufu, eggs, steamed pomfret and stir-fried spinach. And on Sunday we cooked curry. I wanted to break out a recipe from the cookbook but I thought I'd begin with something more familiar, to my mother anyway, so she could teach me some skills.
And it just so happened that the Borders email that I subscribe to, this week, has a voucher for 25% off any Jamie Oliver cookbook! And since I'm a member, I get an additional 10% off! Guess I'll be making a trip down to town this week!
I also bought 2 new CDs this week. (I've been running out of cash but I got some extra money from the performance, thank god!) Paramore and Mika. Paramore still sounded pretty much the same, not too much groth to them, and each song sounded similar but not in a good way. Mika, however, was fantastic. I was doing housework while listening to him and managed to listen to the CD 3 times! There were variations in each of his songs and a total Mika-ness to them... But, after listening to it, I really have to wonder if he was gay or not. Look out for tracks: 'Blame it on the girls', 'Dr John', 'Good Gone Girl' and 'Touches You'. If you're a fun, quirky person, you'll definitely like this album!

feel
Without experiencing what it is like to hurt... we would not know the joyous sensation that is happiness.
It's like a story with no ending... it's incomplete. While we're on that matter, it's like a story with no beginning! You need both the beginning and the end to tell a story. The journey itself is inevitable.
We need both pleasure and pain to exist. Life is all about balance. Only when the scales are tipped does tragedy happen. Miss one emotion and you might forget what it's like to be human.
To be human is to feel.
So my friends, if you're hurting right now, fret not... embrace the hurt and make good use of it. Know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel... That after all this suffering, some good will come out of it.

It's been a long time...
Ok, summarized update on what's been going on...
Been in a lord of the rings watching phase these days... I just think that the extended edition box set is THE BEST DVD ever! Movie is good and the extras are AMAZING...
Also, much to the delight of my friend Kalthoum, I've been watching Supernatural too. I put it on right before I go to bed and then after watching it... I find it hard to go to sleep! Haha... But it's thouroughly entertaining and the brothers really do grow on you.
I've also been trying to explore Singapore after many of my colleagues said that I'm a tourist in my own country. I'm doing it with someone who's just as much a tourist in her own country... Kalthoum! We've only been to Chinatown and Arab street so far and there's still many places to go! We basically just pick a street to start off with and just walk around for hours. Man, I enjoyed Chinatown cos there were so many antique shops and I even bought a very old version of Shakespeare's Othello for $10! Now, if only I understood the text...
I got a new phone: Nokia E75. Yes! I finally got rid of my Samsung phone! Seriously, I was irritated with it and often found pleasure in casually throwing it down on my bed whenever I had the chance! This Nokia is sooo much better. It reacts so much faster and the functions are just so easy to get. Plus, it has a horizontal keyboard that you can slide out and type so much faster! Love Nokia...
Some of my friends have recently turned 21 and I've been to their wonderful parties... Next one is Chin Yan's at Marina Square! And my lil niece is about to turn 1! Yay, older then can start ''bullying'' her like her father ''bullied'' me! Muaahahahaha...
Well, that's pretty much it. I reallly hope I have the discipline to update it more! :)

I'm 21!
Went to KL over the weekend for a shopping trip. We literally stayed there for only 24 hours. Bought loads of stuff though... A lot of books and some shirts. KL sure has a lot of places to shop at! We stayed at Berjaya Times Square which is the biggest hotel I'be ever stayed in. It has a living room, pantry and multiple doors in the toilet itself! We walked from the hotel to the twin towers and yup, it is pretty tall! Man, sis and I took a whole load of funny pictures there. Too lazy to upload it and not sure if I want to! Haha...
Thank you to all who celebrated my birthday with me!
Assumption mates... It was a very fun day going to the games cafe which is always something I always wanted to do, thanks to may ann for organising that. Special shout out to Chin Yan for buying me those accessories... We have so much in common girl! Let's meet again when I can! Hee...
Kal and En, thanks for accompanying me to the Da Vinci exhibition. It wasn't all that great, but I think we enjoyd ourselves. Special thanks to Kal for giving me that special edition Jane Eyre book. I couldn't ask for a more appropriate book for turning this age. And, you're the first one to give me a book when I love to read books adn have always wanted one for a gift!
Last but not least, thanks to my cousins for bringing me to dinner. I love that Chelsea shirt with Ballack's name on it and I wore it at home during the last match of the EPL season! I really love the Tiffany & Co. necklace with the silver key... I've always wanted something from them!
I know a lot of people expected me to have a big birthday bash. Honestly, because I have such a wonderful mum, everyday is sort of like my birthday. I don't need a major party cos everyday is kind of like one! Haha... Anyway, I couldn't have asked for a better celebration: with people that matter.
Thank you! :)

The countdown begins
Man, I dislike the bus ride home, but i've learned very well to sleep on the bus! I can practically sleep the whole bus ride home (50min+), if I'm sitting inside. Yesterday on 185 home, I got the 2nd last seat and the lady behind me wanted to sit, but this stupid middle aged man but his briefcase on the outside seat. I later learned that he did not get down anytime soon... Anyway, just when I thought chivalry was dead, this young man (17-22) gave the lady his seat. Now, that woman hardly muttered a word of thanks! Urgh... Then the gentleman asked the middle aged man if he could sit at that seat. The gentleman also later gave up his seat to an old man after another young man practically snatched the last seat from him! But... I think the gentleman might've been a bit siao cos he was talking to the middle aged man beside him!
Over the past 2 days, I've encountered some lovely animals! Yesterday while crossing the road to work, a car passed me and there was this terrier just sticking its head out of the window! I just broke out into a laugh there and then! It looked like it was so happy just being a dog and sticking its head out the window! Aw.... Then this morning outside my mum's workplace, there were these 2 robins doing some sort of mating dance! The male was going after the female and the femal was doing a good job trying to eat as he did his dance! Mum and I stood there for a few minutes just watching them! AWW....
21st birthday coming up soon... I thought I might dread turning a little older, but I'm quite looking forward to it. We're going KL for the weekend and anything I buy there is sponsored! Haha... I'm also quite proud of wahat I've achieved over the years. I know its not fantastically much, but I like it. One thing I haven't achieved yet: to lose all the weight and buy clothes! Haha... Well, once the project starts, I'm sure I can do it!
Looking forward to the weekend! Someone said I have presents... :)

The Portrait
I have more time to read now. Recently, I finished The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Unabridged, first edition (copy), mind you... :) Its a book about influence and how Dorian got a wonderful painting done of him, a painting that showed his true soul because everytime he did something bad, a scar would appear on his portrait but he would remain ever youthful and untouched. In the end, it was revealed that the picture was more of Dorian's conscience, hidden behind a beautiful purple and gold curtain. He tried to run away from it, but it was always bugging him. Until one day he decided to destroy the picture. I shan't reveal the end to you now...
I think that is something many people hope for these days. They wanna have youth and a pure-ness about them but rarely anyone can do that now. You see SO many beautiful people but you just never know how their portrait will really look. What's behind that beautiful curtain?
I'm sure we all hide our bad thoughts and deeds away in some corner of our mind. But as the book is trying to say: you can never run away from them. Sure, you get battle scars from life, but when it comes time to face your portrait, will it kill you?
My portrait has a few scars already (of course). Though, they're not really self-inflicted. Someone else did that. As some of you might know, I am blessed to have my life. My portrait is not so different from me right now. I am still young. But when I look at my scars, I know how they got there. Each one. Don't ever lose track of your scars...
What will your portrait look like?

Quirkology
Boy, this job is un-normal hours, but the things that I get to do and the people that I get to meet are truly unique!
There's a new woman on the job and she's got experience. That's really helpful! I'm so glad that she's here so that she can help out more and I can learn from her too! Now I know, experience is a really big advantage. Even if you have a really good degree or whatever, unless that degree teaches you how to survive in real life, it doesn't count for much.
Aren't the things we learn in school supposed to be useful? They make you memorize so much crap but they never teach subjects like ''how to deal with difficult people'' or ''human-ology 101'' or even ''workplace survival''. Sure, when you go Poly they teach you one step further but is there a way where schools can truly prepare you for the workforce? Or is everyone just supposed have a crash course in learning what really matters?
Ah, enough about work! I met up with Bestie today who is down with an allergy reaction that gives her rash! Darn!
I also watched 3 movies so far this weekend. Knowing, crossing over and the fast and the furious 4. I fell asleep during fast and furious, an action movei, after I had 8 hours worth of sleep. I think that tells you enough... Crossing over is a really intense film about how people are doing anything they can in the hopes of finding a better life in America. Knowing is the best of the 3. This highly un-publicized film stars Nicholas Cage and you gotta have an open mind when watching it. But the visuals are AMAZING. I mean, the last time I had my mouth open when I watched a movie (cos it was visually stunning) was probably 300. It had me crying and just curling up in my seat, wanting to close my eyes but couldn't bring myself to do it. Go watch it. And confessions of a shopaholic, but warning: its a girly movie!
I bought a book today called Quirkology. Another one of those useless facts book. I only read like 10 pages so far but I know that the date of your birth doesn't really affect how you are as a person. I hope to finish my other book, the picture of dorian gray by this month? I've been working on it since February so hopefully I can finish it soon so I can move on to the next one!
I've put a few new photos up on facebook, so guys, go check it out!

Still sick
Sunday, March 15, 2009
Hi all
Enough about work.
I watched 3 movies this week. Witch mountain, the tale of despereux and dragonball. All rather entertaining films. Now Saturday is like my mum and I's movie day. We usually watch 2 movies in a day. Can't live without my movies, they're my way of relaxing...
Also celebrated my cousins birthday this week. Too lazy to upload the photos. I barely transferred them. Cousins, don't expect to get the pictures anytime soon! Haha... :)
Alright, gotta go have a quick dinner before I go off to see a rehearsal for the show.
P.S. Congrats to my bestie May Ann for getting the job she wants! :)

What personal life?
So now I basically just come home to sleep. I'm too busy to even think about missing home. And the only time I can watch movies is on weekends. $10 per ticket. Boy, they really know how to take money from us.
Everyone's saying ''welcome to hell''. We passed by the institue of mental health the other day and my producer was saying that I might need to check in next month. I told him next week can already. Then he said I should probably go book a suite so that I would be comfortable. HA. Well, at least we can still joke about it...
They're also saying that I should say goodbye to my personal life. Ya, I think I really have to do that. But there are the occassional times that I think I can go out with friends and cousins. So my dear lovelies out there, when I can go out, please see me? Cos you'll never know when you can see me again!
On Friday night, I got ''moderately shitface'' with my cousins and the dragon boat team. Boy, after a week of hard work, its quite nice to get high and laugh my ass off at the silly things people do when they're drunk! Met some new and nice people and got to know the old ones better!
See ya sometime people...

Someone invent a Teleportation Machine!
That's when I got a little frustrated. I live very much in the west and am therefore out of the way for a lot of things. That means travelling time will always be longer than most.
I hate how I have to spend 1 whole hour of my life just to travel to get to somewhere. If only there was a safe time machine that everyone could use. We would get so much more done.
I saw this girl who was doing her homework on the bus home (her handwriting was neat!) and I was thinking: great for her! But I can't do that! Reading is a fantastic thing to do on the bus, but not when the bus driver likes to step on his brakes at every possible chance! I don't wanna lose my lunch ya know...
So please, someone invent a teleportation machine... Or at least a faster bus route from my place to other possible places.

Weekend wind-down
Well, its back to work tommorrow. Wow... haven't said that in a while! My diet is totally KIV right now and as I'm typing this, i'm eating a yummy-ly sinful cup of cup noodles! Hopefully I can work out a plan for next week... :)

Unfortunately, I cannot talk about my job here. If you really wanna know, just ask me when you see me. :)
Take care!

Update!
Cousin Charleston had his wedding dinner which was at Novotel Clarke Quay and it was pretty nice! I like the decoration... The balloons at the ceiling were a very nice touch. My nephew and nieces, towards the end of the dinner, took some of the balloons and sucked in the helium! They were funnny... Then the next day was cousin Bryan's ROM signing (if that's what you call it) over at his house. It ended pretty quickly and the food I thought was not enough for all the guests. The festivities ended rather early and cousin Jess and I watched A Walk To Remember while the rest left for home or other activities. No super interesting pictures so I shan't post them up. ;)
For Dad's birthday we just went to Zhou's Kitchen at Jurong Point. The food was great and the service was excellent. They especially made a cake for us and we sang happy birthday veery loudly so that everyone looked at us! Then yesterday was Mum's birthday. It was a family affair. We went to Ritz Carlton for lunch (dim sum) then walked around Marina Square. Dad won Francis Yip concert tickets so he and mum went to watch it. Sis wanted to have dinner with her boyfriend and I was on the verge of being alone. Luckily I asked Kal and she was free to meet up! So we went for an impromptou dinner. We haven't seen each other for a month and that, for us, is pretty long! It was nice to catch up with herand tell her about the things that I've been going through. You understand me girl!
I find that in these modern times, special mass holidays like Christmas and Valentine's day seem to lose their meaning. Instead they become a time for mass consumption... Sadly, I am kinda one of their victims... Yeasterday, I practically spent my ang pao money. I bought a beautiful pair of white Birkenstock which was $98. Then a Harry Potter wand (Lupin' wand) which was $91. Then a Chanel lipstick for $40. And an All American Rejects CD for $18. I wanted to spend more but I resisted! Haha... but pretty soon I'm gonna be spending my own money cos...
I got the job as an Assistant Poducer! I start work on Monday! Wish me luck ya'll! :)

The 2nd year
It's different now.
Only happy thoughts of you remain.
And if any tears should be shed, its because I miss the way you make me feel.
You didn't need smart words or talent.
You just needed me to care for you and to love you.
Lessons learnt over 15 years.
They don't know what they're talking about.
Everyday your smell gets fainter.
How you felt in my arms is now a distant memory.
I could go on forever but I think its enough.
Forever, you'll be missed.
Thank you for being you.

My House 2009
Saturday night, at a very lame 9 p.m.!
Them gambling. I told Issy to do a funny face and she gave me that. How charming.
Some of my nephews and nieces. Aw... they're growing up!
My dear cousins and I in my beautiful room! Seriously, I love my room! :)
Alright... so that's basically it for CNY this year. Only one left is cousin Jess' house. And 2 weddings. I'm proud to report that my ''losing weight'' thingy is kinds working! I can fit into things better now, so hopefully by end of this year I'll look different, eh? :)

Franken Berry
WTF...
posted by Gerard on Jan 18, 2009 11:22pm
-does a guy have to do to find some Frankenberry in the state of California?Did they stop making it? Do they still make it and just don't ship it to Los Angeles?Am I going to have to order some of Amazon?
Picture that for a minute...just close your eyes let your imagination bring this scenario to life...
A person, me, you, whoever- logging onto amazon, pulling out an actual credit card, inputing the exact numbers and the desired shipping address, possibly even selecting "Next-Day Air" to get some goddamned Frankenberry in a motherfuckin' cereal bowl.
I have searched several supermarkets in the last month and have not come across ANY of the cereal monsters. They always have Lucky Charms and all that other awesome sugar-shit but no F-Berry.
I don't even know how I even ended craving it in the first place, but I now have it strong.
F-berry.
***update***I am just now learning that there are some people that live in California that have never even HEARD of Frankenberry. I mean I don't even know what to say about that...you've been deprived...I'm sorry.Heres all you need to know-It's cereal that tastes like "strawberry flavor" but it's not exactly "strawberry flavored".It has marshmallows. It gives you pink sugar-milk.Frankenberry has a giant head and red nail-polish...and he has two friends (he used to have a third but Fruit Brute is a bit elusive) -Heres a link...it's listed as a"Monster Trilogy" of cereal...like no shit... http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cereal-Trilogy/dp/B00152KJMG/ref=pd_bbs_sr...
HAHA!!! Click on the WTF link to see the picture of this cereal that he's talking about. You can also read of his comic fetish and reality TV ''obsession''...
I am having a fantastic Chinese New Year! I haven't uploaded the pictures yet, but expect them sometime soon...

5,4,3,2,1... Game On!
It was real fun too... Unlike Laser Quest, this one is so much more exciting cos if you get shot, it will HURT! We played at night so it was cool and windy. I got like 7 shots and a huge ass scrape on my knee cos I slid to the barrel. And I found out that I was not bad! We had to shoot down a small cone before we could collect our targets and I'd take it down in like 10 seconds!
We had to wear a mask to protect our face and man was it stinky from other people's sweat! And we wore our own clothing, they did not give us a guard or something so our clothes were all spattered with paint. And for someone quite large... I didn't get hit in the torso that much! I got hit on both knuckles, my side, right knee, left arm, back and butt which I didn't even feel (prob too much flesh there!). The bruises are real interesting too. Here are the ones in the more exposed areas...
This is my knee scrape. On the left you can see where another paintball hit. It doesn't look as bad in pictures, so those that'll see me during CNY, you can see the real deal!
On Tuesday I went back to the zoo to say hi to people and to my friend who's going back to the Phillipines. I was pretty happy people still remembered me, but I could tell some forgot my name! But most importantly, the ones that I was nice with greeted me with a smile!
Today (Thursday), mum and I did something we haven't done in a while... we watched 2 movies in 1 day! We caught a 12.45 show called Love Matters. Another Jack Neo movie. People... don't expect too much from it... The ending was not good and it wasn't believable. Have an open mind while watching it. The 2nd movie was... Inkheart! Quite an interesting movie, I must say. I who love books kinda enjoyed this movie. The special effects were awesome and I love the set design. If you watched the trailers for this movie you'd probably notice some writings on the characters/animals. Interesting how that came about! So Inkheart is recommended!
I'm looking forward to Bride Wars next week and... Chinese New Year! Ang Pao... here I come! :)

The Search Is (not) Over
Ok, this is just something I wanted to share with you guys. We bought this bottle from Ikea to put water or something in our fridge. My mum washed it before we used it and this was what happened when, I think, she put a little soap inside! It was such an interesting picture that I just had to take Violet out and snap it! Oh, what would we do without our digital cameras?

Music of 2008
I didn't have time to post this last year so here it is...
2008 in music was alright. Funny, I can't really remember too much about it! So no lists for this category. I'm more picky about my music so I don't have enough to make a ''top ten''. Here's some music stuff that struck a chord in me last year.
Ash. Thanks to cousin Trixy, sis and I managed to get free tickets to go see Ash. A trio from Ireland that plays somewhat alternative rock music. It was at Fort Canning Park and we got prety good lcoations. 2nd row and the girl in front of me was short so I got a full view of the singer. The bass player was sexy man. Great night...
Goldspot. This really little known band from LA is, I find very cool. The singer is Indian and you totally can't tell when you listen to them. Go check them out on Youtube. I really like Friday.
Paramore. I think I really got into them when ''That's What You Get'' came out. Before, I just totally admired lead singer Hayley for her beautiful voice and I love how they write and compose their own songs! Then ''Decode'' came out about the same time with their DVD and I was hooked. Go check out acoustic versions of their songs on Youtube. Wonderful.
We Will Rock You. Early in 2008, one show changed my view on musicals. It was the most rocking musical I ever watched and I had the pleasure of watching it twice! For details, check out my previous blog post about it... February I think.
Singfest. My number 6 moment of the year. And I got to meet One Republic! If only we got there earlier to get better seats. But still, it was awesome and I had a great time with Sis and her friends!
The Script. The best discovery this year. The first time I saw them was at last year's MTV Asia Award. After so many out-of-tune artists that performed, they came on, were in tune and had a wonderful song. ''The Man Who Can't Be Moved'' was my number 1 song of the year. Their CD was pretty awesome too and their Irish accent is kinda charming! Go check them out if ya got the time...
I hope that this year there will be more interesting acts coming to Singapore. I reeeaally hope that acts like Paramore, The Script, All American Rejects and Jason Mraz will come. MCR is currently taking a break, being normal people, so I wish them all the best and guys, please come out with new material soon! And if not, have a few kids! Haha... :)
2009 is upon us. Let's all hope that it'll be a better year and that the recession will pass us quickly, ya?
