Slacking is an art...

Slacking is an art, well,
not everyone can do it.
It takes patience
'less you kick the bucket.

You learn to wake up
at ten-thirty,
and take a shower
before you become dirty

Feeding is essential
to a slacker's survival,
so he/she does it
like they're at some carnival.

Hard work never killed anyone
but why take the risk?
You're only twenty
go put on a compact disc...

Enjoy life while you can,
maybe smoke some kif!
Or before you know it,
you've become a working stiff.

I will find a job,
I'm just taking my time.
Meanwhile I'll just stick
to working on my rhyme...

Another random poem... Sometimes I just like to sit down at my computer, rhyming dictionary in hand, clear my head and just write about whatever comes to which, currently, is slacking... :)

I also just finished my marathon session of watching season 3 of ''24''. Man, is Jack Bauer cool or what? Or is Kiefer Sutherland cool? Erm.. they're both cool! In this 3rd season, there's a new cahracter by the name of Chase Edmunds who's played by James Badge Dale. Man, I was just waiting for a shot of his torso, but the only small shot is when he was tortured, and its only a lil bit... :) Another thing about this show is that almost every episode, which is every hour, a cahracter whether main or not, will die. Haha.. eventually I got so used to it until there was one point I went ''oh, another one'' and ''well, its about time''! But seriously, killing is not cool, unless it is done by a very sexy CTU agent and it is fictional... :)

Singapore vs Lebanon

Singapore won! 2-0!
Its from my phone, so its a lil blur...

Ok, I admit that I don't really know a vast majority of the Singapore players (except Lionel Lewis and Nur Alam Shah) and I really don't know any of the Lebanese players, but this was my first live football match! And Singapore won! Haha...

It was entertaining and the crowd around me was pretty cool. I was seated at the grandstand and on the opposite side was the proper cheerers. You know, those hardcors kind? Anyway, they were making a hell lot of noise and my side only made noise in the second half. ''Noise'' meaning mostly complaining... Like one point the referee made a stupid mistake and we were all ''referee kayu''! The lebanese players kept falling down so there was a lot of ''don't bedeh'' and ''stop wasting time'', which eventually turned into ''boos'' the next time they took the ball!

So after that match, my entire family went to eat at Boon Tong Kee and played stupid but fun ''name the country and names'' games. Then it was home and a Germany vs Switzerland match at 3.40! Germany won! 4-0! Pretty good to see the german team together again... can't wait for Euro 2008! :)

I'm Back!

After roughly 3 days and about 20-odd hours of driving, I'm back! We spent about 2 days in Cameron Highlands and on the last day, we drove down to Melacca for a lil shopping.

1st night
The trip started off at 11+ on Thursday night. Everyone gathered and we had supper at Jurong West St 91. So we only drove into Malaysia at around 1.30+. We went so late partly cos we wanted to beat the jam. I guess you could say we did. So anyway, we stayed at my cousin Ruyi's house in Kulai for the night and set out for Cameron the next morning.

1st Day
Stumbled into Cameron mid-afternoon, settled into our apartment, shared by 12 adults, with only 2 toilets and a pretty pathetic kitchen. After that, we went for a controversial dinner at the hotel's restaurant and then headed for the night market. Nothing much to shop there, just vegetables, fruits, plants, knick-nacks and plenty of strawberries.

2nd Day
Woke up pretty early, walked down to a local market and bought some snacks. Against our will, we were forced to walk 2km++ to Boh tea plantation. (It's a long story there... ) All 10 of us got pretty pissed off, cos it was my aunt and uncle's idea to walk, but we made a bad situation good! We took our time and sang songs and enjoyed the scenery! After that, we went to some cactus farm, which also had other plants. Oh, and there were strawberries too. Even a whole shop filled with strawberries stuff. We then went back, took a shower and went for dinner at a sweet small restaurant. Went home, had some vodka-sprite to warm ourselves, watched TV, played cards and went to bed.

3rd Day
Checked out at around 8, went for breakfast, drove about 4 hours to Melacca. Had a lovely lunch: chicken rice balls!!! Love those chicken rice balls... even bought a shirt that said I love them! Shopped there for only about 3 hours, but thoroughly enjoyed it, then went for dinner. It was a pretty quiet dinner, but alright. I always have stomach issues when travelling, and I didn't have much appetite. After that, we travelled another 3-4 hours or so and then we were home!

So it was a pretty alright trip, I liked the drive and most of the company... :) Did a lil shopping, enjoyed the cool weather of Cameron and tolerated the sweltering heat of Melacca!

Vacation over!

Vacation time again!

Leaving for vacation tomorrow... Me and my extended family are gonna drive up to Cameron Highlands. This trip was totally unexpected. After I came back from Vietnam, my mum and aunts and uncles were talking about it, but I didn't think that we'd actually go. Then last Sunday when we went to my uncle Eddy's house to pray my grandfather, they just confirmed they were going!

So here I am on the eve of another vacation. Sweetness! My 2nd vacation in about 3 weeks! Totally unexpected... :)

Alright, gotta go pack now. Take care ya'll!

Kbox again...

Went Kbox (Cineleisure) yesterday with my lovely cousins... Had a good 4 hours or so singing our hearts out in that room until the machine cut us off cos our time ran out! Haha... Wanted to do some shopping, but in the end, the only thing I bought was Mrs Field's cookies. All because I saw some guy in a movie eat cookies, then I got a craving to eat cookies too. I get weird cravings...
The girls weren't ready when this picture was taken! Haha...

Today slacked at home watching the first season of The O.C. Then later went to meet mum at West Mall to watch Spiderwick Chronicles. Mum was late again so I wanted to buy either Lime or First magazine to read. The shop didn't have either! So I just bought Elle magazine. I don't really know why I bought it... Anyway, I wanted to buy First cos my recent movie knowledge was outdated cos of the travelling and slacking that I've been doing. My cousins (unknowingly)reminded me of this when we were deciding what movie to watch (we didn't watch any in the end) and they were asking me what a couple of movies were about. I didn't know! Usually I wouldn't have much of a problem telling people, but I blanked out yesterday! This isn't really important, but since I'm so free these days, I might as well brush up on my movie knowledge...

Be kind to the environment!

Double Movie Day!

Yup, I watched 2 movies in 1 day! Yesterday, Friday, I got my final semester results. My mum didn't know about it until we were on our way to Vivo. When she found out I passed everything, (YEAH MAN!!!) she said ''ok, let's celebrate!'' So we tried to go for the Gold Class movie which was ''Horton Hears A Who''. But they were only left with the first row, so we decided to just watch the same movie at GV Max. After that movie, we wanted to see if there was another movie we could watch. ''Spiderwick Chronicles'' was our next choice, but they didn't have good seats for that, unless we watched the midnight show, which my mum didn't want. So we ended up watching ''No Country For Old Men'', cos it won for best picture at this year's Oscars. BIG mistake. In movies, I find the Scottish and Irish accents pretty hard to understand. Next is the old type of American accent. You know, those Texan-like accent where they drag out the ending of every word, the kind you see in those ''cowboy'' movies. Anyway, the whole film was in that accent and it barely had any music in it. A lot of violence and a lot of long pauses and I kinda lost my concentration in the end. For me, if I have to concentrate on a film instead of being just naturally drawn into it, I don't think its a very well made film. I don't know why it won for best picture. But then again, maybe I just don't get it! I think Atonement should have won... :)

My results certainly weren't top-notch. But, I managed to pass everything, which was what I was aiming for anyway. The good thing about my parents is that they aren't particular on what type of grades I should have. They're just happy as long as I pass! My dad even said ''fail 1 or 2 also never mind''. My mum reminded him that if I did fail, I would have to stay back another 6 months or so! Haha...

The toilet is my friend. Ever since I was sick, I've been having what I call ''backside vomit''. Its like actual vomit, but from the back! Haha... You know the kind when you feel it coming and you have no control over it and it just comes out however it wants to come out! I go to the toilet about 4 times a day now to do that and the result always looks weird...

Seems like today is another just slacking at home... I'm enjoying myself! I love to stay at home, but only if I go out once in a while. I got food, drinks and entertainment in the form of movies, karaoke and Sims! I like to read, and when there's no one at home, I can concentrate better... Over 60 channels of cable TV to browse... and there's a Chelsea match tonight! What more could I ask for? Haha... The way I see it is, I better appreciate all the free time I have now, slack all I want to, before I actually find a job and become a working stiff for the rest of my life!

And that's my interpretation...

Vietnam!

I returned home from my trip from Vietnam on Saturday, around evening time. Woke up close to the afternoon on Sunday, watched a movie, came home and relaxed, was too lazy to update my blog. The next day, I don't know why, but I got seriously sick! I felt like vomitting everytime I sat up and at one point I couldn't really walk! My head felt like it was about to drop off and my whole body felt like there were tiny elves just hammering away! What made it worse was that I had my period too! Ladies, I know ya'll can sympathize with me... :) I thought I could wake up, make myself lunch, then update my blog and play my Sims. Instead, I spent the whole day just lying down because that was the only way I felt comfortable! Then yesterday, Monday, I still wasn't feeling too well, which is why it took me until now, 3+ days after my return, to update my blog...

So here's what happened on my trip to Vietnam. I went with my Uncle and Aunty, Dad and 4 of my cousins… We went to 2 places: Ho Chih Minh and Nha Trang.

1st Day
Met at Budget Terminal, which is a far cry from our other terminals, ate lunch and prepared to leave. This is my first time taking a budget flight and it got delayed! I think it’s something to do with the flight schedule for the pilots and flight attendants, cos the pilot didn’t sound too happy. Anyway, after about a half hour delay, I took a flight for the first time with my cousins! Previously, we’ve all taken flights separately, so this is the first time for me with them! Taking a budget flight isn’t too bad. It’s just a little more cramped, they don’t serve food, and the stewardesses aren’t too pretty. When we reached, we checked our bags temporarily into a hotel called Liberty 2 and went to eat at a place called Pho 2000. It’s the best food I had in Vietnam! Pho is a soup-y noodle with either beef, chicken or pork. I had the chicken on and ice milk coffee. Vietnamese coffee is the best man. Its fresh and has a real aromatic taste!

That night, we took a 7-ish hour train ride to Nha Trang...

2nd Day
In Nha Trang, we stayed at a wonderful 6-star (according to my uncle and aunt) hotel called Vinpearl. Its actually a resort and spa and you have to take a ‘’speedboat’’ to it. The entire island is the resort and spa, so its very nice, quiet and private. We checked into our rooms and then went swimming! The water was damn cold, both in the sea and the swimming pool. In the sea, I went a little too far and panicked when my feet couldn’t reach the bottom. The strong waves made it difficult for me to get my feet back to the bottom, but luckily I had my trusty cousins to help me! I got pretty tanned that day... After that, we went to a water park where we all got our butts seriously injured after taking a few rides that totally slammed our butts to the floor of the slides! Then we went to the aquarium, it’s like a mini version of our Underwater World. After that was a ride which we all thought would be pretty easy to take. I was even thinking of taking a couple pictures while it brought us up, but as soon as it started spinning, I had to grab onto the railings for dear life! That’s the thing about the local Vietnamese, they’re so not kiasi (scared of dying). The guy did not tell me to hold on to the railings, nor were there safety belts for us, when the ride took us up about 5 stories and constantly spun us around! Haha… my cousin vomited a little. After that, we were all a little tired, so we had dinner at a real nice Italian restaurant and went back to sleep! I was so tired that my Dad’s snoring did not bother me one bit! :)

3rd Day
We went back to the mainland and stayed at a rather haunted-looking hotel called Dream Hotel. It had a pretty decent view, but due to… administrative problems, none of the kids got that one room. All of us did manage to stay beside each other though... I don't really remember what happened after that. But based on my pictures, we went for a little unvolunteered sightseeing and then dinner and shopping. I think it was this day that we had a 2.6 million... dong dinner! Haha... That's about SGD$260 for 8 adults, so its not that bad. We all laughed at the most ''expensive'' meal we ever had! I didn't really enjoy the meal, cos it was full of things I didn't like to eat. Like crab, some weird lobster porridge and *gulp* lobster sashimi. I promptly spit that out as soon as it went in my mouth! :) After that, we walked around, shopped a lil' bit, then sat at a cute lil' culture place and sipped tea in their very nice and cozy garden...

4th day
We went on a boat trip this day. The boat was filled with people, which I found to be too many... but we met some realy nice people there. My dad made good friends with these 2 Australian guys who turned out to be ex navy and air force people! When one of my cousin got cut when she was coming out of the water, the navy guy gave her some helpful tips on how to clean the wound... so cool. There was a cool English dude with his girlfriend, who did not like football! All the English people I've met don't seem to like football! Haha... This was also the first time I swam in deep sea. We were supposed to see corals, but apparently the sun wasn't bright enough to see the corals below us. :( After the trip, we went back, got ourselves showered and went for dinner. Dinner was pretty good. There was fish, something I am familiar with, and I learned to eat crab (claws) and oysters! After dinner, we did a lot more shopping... :)

5th day
I think we went for more unvolunteered sightseeing and a tiny bit more shopping, before it was back on the train ride to Ho Chih Minh. I enjoyed the train ride a tiny bit more this time. Jixiang sacrificed himself and slept on the floor while the rest of us got our own bunks. I read quite a bit while my cousin played tai ti (?). I slept so comfortably until I was rudely awoken by my uncle just banging away on the door... sigh...

6th day
Reached our 3rd hotel at about 4 in the morning and just crashed in the lobby. We were all dead tired cos we only got about 3+ hours of sleep... We only checked in about 9 in the morning then took a shower and did more shopping! The girls and I got some alone time and we had a pleasant break from the adults!

The next day, we managed to squeeze in a lil' more shopping before we had to leave for our flight at 2.10. This time, it wasn't delayed and we arrived on time. When we finally touched down in Singapore, I spent over $100 on liquor! And when I saw my mum, I hugged her until she could barely stand straight! I tole her some pretty touching words! Haha...

Here are some other things that didn't really fit in anywhere...
My Dad and I

Hotels...

Scenery...

Food... they give vegetables like its free over there!

The wonderfully cute animals (and some creepy fishes) that I met over there!

Phew! Update is done! I'm still feeling a lil' sick, still feeling like I wanna vomit, but with a lil' rest from the computer, I think I should be fine!

Until the next time!
