O.J.T.
About 6-7 hours per day, I am walking. Walking up and down slopes, on the tracks, off the tracks, on mud, etc. Luckily so far its been partially cloudy days, so its not too bad, but I get real thirsty! Plus its the school holidays, so there are lotsa stupid misbehaved young kids running around with their stupider parents who don't care about anyone else but their brats. Haha... But, there are those rare precious lil kids who are so cute.
The animals are fantastic. I like the Giraffes, polar bears and otters the best so far. Man, I can't imagine having those big red butts! I made ''friends'' with the meerkats too. Ya, I see lotsa animals. Cos I'm working in the zoo.
And I have to work 7 days this week. All the way until Sunday. Then they'll decide if they wanna keep me or not. And I have to learn 15 scripts. Good luck to me huh?
My job, if I get it, is basically commentary on the animals when they're having their token feeding time. I carry around a bag of mics, I go to specified locations on time, coordinate with the animal keepers, then talk about the animals, the main goal being to educate the public about them and to promote conservation.
My legs are aching and I'm seriously tired. I have to go memorize some scripts now...
Take care ya'll!
P.S. I got my name tag today! :)

Graduation Day!
Got to school around 11.50 and went to our assigned lecture theatre. Saw all my school mates there in their graduation gowns! We all looked a lil funny in my opinion. I looked extra poofy! L So chatted with the girls, took some pictures, then it was time to get into position and wait to go to the convention centre. Man, did they make us climb stairs in there! Luckily I opted to wear my shorter heels, or else my feet would’ve died that day! Once we were in and seated, they showed us the usual ‘’recap’’ videos and there was a few speeches too. Then, it was time for us to go get our certificates.
More climbing of stairs up and down, then before I knew it, I was at the stage trying not to fall as I went to receive that piece of paper I worked 3 years for. After that, went back to my seat, then watched the others get their certificates.
The valedictorians of each school had to stand on stage while there was a short speech about them. Man, their accomplishments just go on and on! Our valedictorian had a GPA of 3.94!!! Crazy dude…
Then it was over! We hung out around the convention centre entrance and took a couple pictures with each other. My Vietnamese friend tried to give me a kiss while we were taking a picture… luckily that didn’t happen! Oh, Shereen went to get a birthday cake for me! Thanks Shereen! I blew it out in a funny place though, right in front of everyone who bothered to see! We headed over to canteen 1 after that to cut the cake and eat it. Kal got me this real nice birthday present which was a big photo album filled with memorable pictures we took over the years. Thanks Kal!
4 of 6 of us (me, Kal, En and Cai Ling) went to Orchard later for our post-graduation celebration. We expected Shereen to not join us, but then Jojo didn’t join us either! We suspected she was either lazy or decided to spend time with that friend of hers. Ya, she went through 3 years and did all those projects with you… :(
ANYWAY, we decided not to let them bother us, and had a pleasant lunch and then watched Prince Caspian! Again (for me)! Ben Barnes is still so cute! And I still found the movie to be a bit long. After it ended, the theatre hastily stood up and rushed for the toilet! Of course, there was a line at the Ladies, so we went to the toilet on another level. There was a queue there too. If they just need to pee, why do they take so long??? Haha…
We felt like walking around Orchard, but didn’t feel like buying anything, so we just decided to go home. Doesn’t matter that the day wasn’t terribly exciting, I was just happy that I got to spend time with my closest friends on the last day that I was a Ngee Ann Student!
Ok, about my job… I start my 7 days on-the-job-training on Monday. I’m training to be an Animal Presenter (those people you see during feeding time and shows) which means I’ll have to memorize scripts and speak to a whole bunch of people. I auditioned with 4 other people, and I’m not sure if any of them got the call back. Anyway, we’re the highest paid there, starting with $8 an hour. I’ll be a part time staff, working about 4 times a week. Besides presenting the animals, we also have to care for them, which means feeding them, cleaning up after them, etc. I’m not assigned to any animal yet and I’m not even sure if it’s a one-animal kinda thing or I just hop to wherever they need me. So, more updates for sure when I know exactly what I’m doing!

Birthday week!
So, I was about to blow off the 2 BIG candles on my cake (instead of one big one and a bunch of little ones) when they asked me to make a wish. After over 3 months of slacking and not having luck finding a job I want, I decided to wish for a job that I like. This is the creepy part: within 10 minutes, I got a call from Singapore Zoo, to go for an interview on Monday for the position of Animal Presenter! OMG! This wasn't just any job, it was one that I really wanted! So, with the emotional state that I was in, I of course started crying again! Haha...
After that, we just hung out and watched a movie...
Cousins, thank you all for taking the time to come surprise me like that... Its one night I won't forget anytime soon! :)
The wonderful card my cousin Jess made for me... :)
May 22
Birthday day itself, woke up and watched American Idol. Cook rocks man! Finally, the first American Idol I like! Hee...
After that, went IMM for lunch then Vivo to hang out with mum. Walked around and bought a real cute pink pair of shoes (I think they call it pumps?)that was hand made in Spain. Apparently its limited. Also bought a shirt from Forever 21. Met with my sis and ate at the Japenese place I like, then went to have coffee, tea and a kind of shake at a place called Corduroy. Lovely place, would love to go back there again! Cousin Spence and gf Tammy met up with us there. They even gave me gifts! I was touched again. I think its the PMS. I don't usually show my sentimentality that often! Then, it was off to watch Indiana Jones. I wish I knew what was going on there. Cos earlier that morning I was watching the Chelsea match (I'm still so proud of you guys!) and barely had an hour's sleep. I fell asleep during the movie. I missed quite a big chunk of it! Guess I'll have to watch it again... :) After that, it was off to home...
May 23
Slacked for the whole day. Then Jess and Ruyi came over. Ruyi was a lil late cos she ahd to fix something at home, but she made it! Left the house and reached Zouk at 11. Pretty packed already, but we managed to get in. Got a few drinks and started dancing. It was too packed for my liking, but saw some stuff: a few people making out (wonder if they just met) and a mini fight. It was right where we were, so the bouncers had to push past us, hard, to get to those people. After dancing a while more, got pretty bored and we were outta there by 2.30! I was a lil tired and wasn't a good hostess that night. My guests had to wake me up to let them outta the house! Haha...
Jess:Thanks for making that wonderful card and organising the whole thing!
Ruyi: Thanks for hanging out with me so much and keeping to your word of going out with me. Much appreciated!
So that's my birthday. When I watch TV these days and see someone who's like 21 or 23, I'll still think 'that's getting old'. I'm nearing that age! Do I feel old? Only when I'm around younger people! Haha... I'm still pretty young at heart! :)

Real Fruit-y Quote
''Today, I wish to speak on what the lychee can teach us. Sweet things are never worn on the outside. But like a lychee, a person's sweet smile says nothing about a person's heart. A smile can be a trick. To stay sweet, you have to protect yourself. Girls, protect your sweet from the boys. Look at the lychee. Would it taste so sweet if its fruit was exposed to the sun and the rains and the longing of dogs? No. Them fruits would dry up and shrivel. They'd lose their sweetness which is why the lychees sweet part sits behind a hard shell. Everyone knows this to be true, but hardly anyone ever asks why...''
Try to stay sweet everyone, whether you're a girl or boy... :)

Oh Mother
Mum, I appreciate that I can joke wth you and that you basically taught me how to tell dirty jokes (its in our blood!). I like it when you say ''grades aren't everything'' when I barely passed my test or even sometimes when I fail! I like to spend your money, Hee... but the time I get to spend with you is priceless. And I love how you brought me and sis up the best way you know how.
Thank you.
Happy Belated Mother's Day!
On a seperate note, I went to collect my graduation gown with May Ann today. Hers was a lil too long and mine seemed a lil too big! The material ain't so nice and I expected it to have a sort of gloss to it, but it looks pretty dull. Then we went to West Mall where I met up with my dear cuz/hairdresser/make-up artist for my graduation day! Haha... Wanted to watch Iron Man again, but mum called to go Jurong Point, then called again to say she was going home, so I came home after that. I took 157 which means I would have to walk a longer distance home, and by the time I reached my doorstep, I was sweating by the bucketload! For me, its the humudity that kills me, not the heat! Windy/rainy season come quick!
Take care ya'll!

Sick and slacking...

Since then, I haven't stepped out of the house. I've broken my record. Its been 3 1/2 days. I need to get out! Haha... I think I'm going for a movie later, so I'm finally getting out! :)
I had a really cool dream this morning. But, it involved... Rob Scheider and me kinda making out. Funny huh? Of all the celebrities out there, he had to be the one making out with me. Why couldn't it be Ben Barnes? Haha... But this dream did make me think. Are appearances important at all? Initially, sure, they are. But should that affect your decision when you first start a relationship? Do let me know what you think, if you dare!
A Rob Scheider or a Ben Barnes?
Have a good day!

May Day
